CHAPTER XIV. TRAFFICCHAPTER XIV. TRAFFIC\ARTICLE 1. STANDARD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE

The Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities, prepared and published by the League of Kansas Municipalities, Edition 2025, be and the same hereby is incorporated by reference, subject to section 14-103 hereof, as a traffic ordinance of the City of Marquette, Kansas, under the provisions of K.S.A. 12-3009 through 12-3012, including any amendments thereto, and KS.A. 12-3301 and 12-3302. At least three official copies of the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities, Edition 2025, marked or stamped “Official Copy as Adopted by Ordinance No. 2025-4, and to which shall be on file with the City Clerk of Marquette, Kansas, shall be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable business hours.

(a)   An ordinance traffic infraction is a violation of any section of this article that prescribes or requires the same behavior as that prescribed or required by a statutory provision that is classified as a traffic infraction in K.S.A. 8-2118.

(b)   All traffic violations which are included within this article, and which are not ordinance traffic infractions, as defined in subsection (a) of this section, shall be considered traffic offenses.

The fine for violation of an ordinance traffic infraction or any other traffic offense for which the municipal judge establishes a fine in a fine schedule shall not exceed $500.00. Maximum term of incarceration is 6 months unless otherwise specified.
